Wellness Coordinator

Seeking an individual for Wellness Coordinator role who has an interest in working in the healthcare clinical space with both patients and medical professionals such as physicians, nurses and allied healthcare staff. We are seeking a fitness or wellness professional who utilizes a well-rounded understanding of cancer, chronic disease and bariatrics to develop exercise programs for specifically suited the patients they meet.

Responsibilities 

• Meet individually with patients to identify wellness needs and recommend solutions.

• Offer fitness & wellness classes in our outpatient centers for all patients and family members.

• Connect community resources to our patient population – To include but not limited to psychosocial assessment, support groups, fitness partners, nutrition, rehabilitation, etc.

• Develop programs to help address obesity, range of motion challenges, overall physical wellness, early recovery, etc.

• Formalize quality metrics to measure program effectiveness and help in the evaluation of new initiatives.

• Education of providers and staff on the benefits of exercise and aid in the evaluation process for patient selection.

• Screen patients for malnutrition, undernutrition and obesity.

• Provide general nutritional support related to dietary advice endorsed or developed by the federal government.

• Evaluate other integrative medicine approaches to meet the needs of our cancer patients.

• Support clinical and research settings.

• Develop & provide wellness & exercise information & education to patients and employees.

• Develop and oversee patient education programs at each location.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in exercise or wellness space. 

  • Preferred experience with chronic diseases like MS, Cancer, Parkinsons or obesity. 

  • Confidence in and guiding clients to reach goals, instill confidence.

  • General computer skills. 

  • Strong communication & public speaking skills. 

  • Excellent verbal communications skills; excellent listening skills.

  • Strong Multi-tasker. 

  • Prompt, good time management skills. 

Conditions:

  • Full-time, independent contractor.

Responsibilities 

  • Coach ~ 8 -14 classes per week + individual clients based on need. 

  • Lead & member follow-up.

  • Foster community & communicate with members on a regular basis. 

  • Ability to interface with healthcare professionals. 

  • Member recruitment goals. 

  • Represent our wellness brand through your lifestyle and appearance. 

  • Participate and contribute to staff meetings and staff education events.

  • Lead and supervise group coaching sessions. Ability to modify according to participant limitations. 

  • Provide fun, inspiring environment. Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients to enhance their gym experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in fitness or exercise space, understanding of functional fitness. 

  • Experience training small groups and individuals. 

  • Personal Trainer or Group Exercise Certification (ACSM, ACE, CrossFit L1, NASM).

  • American Heart Association CPR, AED and First Aid certification. 

  • Preferred experience with chronic diseases like MS, Cancer, Parkinsons

  • Confidence in and guiding clients to reach goals, instill confidence.

  • Understanding of basic gym operations. 

  • General computer skills. 

  • Strong communication & public speaking skills.
